Layout design ideas for contents, front page, and double page spread.

I have drawn sketches of my contents, front page, and double page spread, to insure that i know exactly where i want to put each specisfic think and that i am definatly happy with my layout. The frame of a magazine is very important as with different issues of your magazine to makesure that mine will be stylised, I wouldnt want the basic frame/layout to change too drasticly. I am not making my magazine busy therefore you will see how my magazine sketches look a tad bland without the strong images, background colours and writing. But with the basic frame i actually think that it works really well as it means that the things you do write mean more to the reader, making your magazine personal. it also has a DIY feel about it so that it looks like we care about the readers more than we do publisizing what celebs we have in our magazine. Alot of front covers draw in an audience by listing famous names but my magazine would draw people in because it looks high fashion, personal, cool and stylish.

The image below is the Cover Layout, I have now actually Picked my title "MISCHIEF" and below it i have decided to write in small "the independent music and fashion magazine" I want the background to be the whole image with the original background although I will edit the colour scheme on Photo shop for the image. using the Title will be in the font Orator Std and so will the words under it. I have picked the graffiti font JUICE for the graffiti and I will write the words "play that funky music" this lets the reader know that its a fun magazine even though its high fashion and glamorous its still got edge (hence the graffiti). I will have the bar code at the bottom and not to big.
Below is the basic layout for my contents page. The frame would remain the same every issue however the pictures would differ as would the writing. The word contents is going to be in the font JAILBIRD JENNA and where it says 'title of magazine' it will say Mischief in the font Orator Std like the cover. I also want the list of what's in the pages and numbers to be in the font JAILBIRD JENNA as this way it really shows the edge that the magazine will have and it suits the Indie theme. I want to make sure that the numbers r the same colour as her lips so they will be a bright pink colour. this goes perfect with my colour scheme making sure my magazine is stylized. again the image of the girl will be the whole background.
This is the layout/ frame for my double page spread. I am going to be using the image of my friend in a celebrity type way as the whole of one side. As it is the image of her with a suitcase, i am going to make the title Going Places... and have it spread across the two pages. I have starting writing the article and i know that I want a powerful quote to be at the top. I want the article to reflect her ambition and even though sometimes she could of been wild she is actually 'going places...' this will be inspirational to all teenagers and young adults who have dreams and ambitions. in the double page spread I want to talk about fashion being part of a music artists life as this combines what my magazine is about.

Now that I know the exact layout, images, fonts, and even what ill be writing, I can now start to edit my photos and create my magazine.
