For my magazine I want to makesure that everything fits together so that my magazine follows an Indie/Pop trend. The reason i am making it Indie/Pop is because i have decided i want to merge the contrasting genres as my unique selling point. I am also making my magazine a fashion magazine to intrest an even wider audiance. I want to interest different demographic groups such as anti authority rebels, admiration seekers, creatives and achievers. Now that i have starting planning exactly what i want my magazine to look like, i know that my magazine will more likley attract females aged 14-19.
I want to know who would eventually publish my magazine and i researched I-D magazine. It is an independent magazine and it is very stylized but still rebellious and attracts youth. this is similar to my magazine therefore i think that if my magazine was successful it would be the publisher of I-D to eventually help publish my magazine.
I-D magazine:
This is a british magazine dedicated to fashion, music, art and youth culture. it was founded by designer and former vogue art director Terry Jones in 1980. In 1984 Tony Elliot became publishing partner to Terry but in 2004 Terry regained total control of the company.
I feel like I-D magazine are very original and attract the target audience that i would want to attract. I would be very comfortable with them helping with my magazine as they seem to have a DIY feel about them. i don't think they would try and change my magazine to much and this is good because each magazine has to be different and i wouldn't want any magazines to try and take control and make my magazine the same or similar to allot of others.
